JLCPCB today announced the official launch of its Overseas Component Consignment service, a fully documented, customs-compliant process that lets customers ship components sourced from outside Mainland China — including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan — directly to JLCPCB for use in their PCBA (PCB assembly) orders.
"This service gives our overseas customers a clear, compliant way to bring their own sourced components into a JLCPCB PCBA order, backed by a documented record from shipment all the way through to contract," said Catherine, Logistics and Customs Affairs Supervisor at JLCPCB.
Why This Matters
Components sourced from outside Mainland China must be formally imported before they can go into production — a process that involves customs declaration, import duties, and import VAT.
The new service brings this into one structured workflow: customers select the correct shipping origin, follow JLCPCB's packaging and shipping instructions, and submit component sales information — including manufacturer, application, country of origin, and HS code — for review.
Once the declared price is verified against prevailing market conditions, JLCPCB acts as the import agent, declaring the shipment to Chinese Customs and handling the applicable import duties and VAT.
After the components arrive at JLCPCB's Hong Kong warehouse and quantities are verified, an official Component Sale and Purchase Agreement is formed and made available for download — giving both sides a complete, traceable record of the transaction.
What This Means for Customers
- Speed and transparency. Consigned shipments are consolidated and cleared through customs up to two to three times a week, helping shorten lead times for your components. Every step of the process — from initial submission to the final Component Sale and Purchase Agreement — is visible in real time through the Consigned Parts Shipments dashboard.
- One-stop import handling. JLCPCB acts as your import agent — declaring the shipment to Chinese Customs and managing the required paperwork — so you don't need to arrange your own customs broker or coordinate separate freight and clearance steps. It's a single, streamlined process from shipment to clearance.
- Seamless export compliance. Because consigned components are properly declared and documented from the start, your finished PCBA carries complete, formal clearance documentation when it's exported — helping reduce the risk of the shipment being held or flagged for additional inspection by customs in your destination country.
Getting Started
The Overseas Component Consignment service is available now to all JLCPCB customers. Full process details — including packaging requirements, fee calculations, and storage and retrieval terms — are available in the Overseas Component Consignment User Guide.
