Conformal Coating Spray Service
Last updated on Jun 10, 2026
Service Description
JLCPCB uses an acrylic-based conformal coating to protect printed circuit boards and components from humidity, dust, chemicals, and extreme temperatures. Before coating, the PCBAs will be cleaned to remove surface contaminants and other impurities to help ensure coating quality.

Supported Order Type
Only available for Standard PCBA orders.
Functions and Benefits of Conformal Coating Spray
To a certain extent, conformal coating helps provide SMT-assembled boards with protection against moisture, salt-spray corrosion, and dust. It helps prevent corrosion and improves the reliability of the boards in harsh environments.
Pricing
The conformal coating spray service fee includes board cleaning, engineering fee, and coating fee.
- Board cleaning: $0.16/pc
- Engineering fee:
- Single-side coating: $6.42
- Double-side coating: $9.64
- Coating fee: $0.0048/cm² × coating area
Since the coating area may be an irregular shape and difficult to calculate accurately, the board area is generally used as a reference. For double-side coating, the area is multiplied by 2.
How to Select "Conformal Coating" Option When Placing an Order
As shown below, select Single-side coating, Double-side coating, or Customized coating thickness, and add a Remark.
The Remark should include both a written description and images indicating the areas to be coated.

Special Notes
- Please note that the minimum spray range of our conformal coating machine nozzle is 17 × 17 mm. The standard coating thickness is 50–200 μm. The coating may not fully cover all component surfaces and solder joints; therefore, in some environments, we cannot guarantee 100% insulation or moisture protection.
- If a coating thickness of 201–300 μm is required, two coating passes are required, and the coating fee is $0.0064 per cm². For a coating thickness of 301–400 μm, the coating fee is $0.008 per cm², and so on.
- The conformal coating remains slightly fluid before curing; therefore, we cannot guarantee completely uniform thickness across all coated areas.
- The minimum distance between the keep-out area and the coating area is 17 × 17 mm. Customers should accept that specified coating areas may not be coated completely.
- In general, JLCPCB does not perform powered-on testing. If an issue after coating is not related to soldering, JLCPCB will not accept complaints.
- Customers must provide images indicating the areas to be coated.
- To avoid disputes, we will apply the conformal coating according to the images provided by the customer. If the customer does not provide images indicating the areas to be kept free of coating, we will apply conformal coating to the entire PCB area by default.
