SK HYNIX, originally known as Hyundai Electronics, was founded in 1983. The company listed on the Korean stock market in 1996 and became independent after acquiring LG Semicon in 1999. It changed its name to Hynix Semiconductor in 2001 and has been a dedicated memory manufacturer since 2004. Today, SK HYNIX is the world's second-largest DRAM manufacturer, primarily producing DRAM and NAND Flash.
