How to Count The Total Number of Pads/Pins in Your Design?

What is pin count?

Pin Count, the sum of pads in the design, is a key factor for quotes.


How to check Pin Count in Different Softwares?


EasyedaPro

1.Click 'Export' on the top bar and click 'PCB information'



2.Pin count would be shown under 'PCB Information'



EasyedaStd


1.Click 'Fabrication' on the top bar and click 'PCB information'


2.Pin count would be shown under 'PCB Information'



Altium Designer


Check in Schematic


1.Click 'Tools' on the top bar

2.Click 'Parameter Manager'



3.Tick the 'Pins' box and click 'OK'


4.Get pin count in the new window.



Check in PCB


Method1


1.Inport all parts, click 'Panel' on the bottom bar and click 'Properties'.



2.Pull the scroll bar and find pin count (which is named as 'Pads') under 'Board Information'



Method2


1.Click 'Reports'

2.Click 'Board Information'



3.Tick 'Layer Information' box and click 'Report'


4.Pin Count(Pads) will show up on the bottom, as below.



Cadence

Check in Schematic(Orcad)

1.Right click your root catalogue and click 'Edit Object Properties'



2.Click 'Pins' and find Pin Count on the bottom line




3.If Step2 doesn't work for you, click 'Pins' and click 'Pivot'

Check in PCB(Allegro)

1.Click 'Show Element' and tick 'Pin' box




2.Select all parts on the board by cursor and Pin Count shows up in a small window.
