JLCPCB Supported Personalized Services

JLCPCB Supported Personalized Services

To better serve customers and meet their individual needs, JLC's personalized services have been integrated into the ordering platform. In fact, we also support a wider range of personalized services in actual production. Below, we will explain the relevant service items and fee standards. If needed, you can make a note when placing an order, or contact our Support team in a timely manner.

1- Assembly Standoffs

Choose standoffs of appropriate height, which can be used to protect pins or assist in elevated component soldering.

Fee standard: Cost of the standoff device + $0.032 per standoff.

2- Bending Pins Soldering

Bend the device pins to position the device in a lying down orientation.

Fee standard: $0.0157 per pin. (If difficult, the charge may increase.)

3- Programming Service

For standard SMT orders, we support partial programming tests. JLC only supports programming after soldering is complete. If this service is needed, the customer must provide the chip model, the programming interface definition reserved on the board, a picture of the board, and the program file in HEX or BIN format. If we confirm we can proceed, an additional fee will be charged.

Fee standard: $7.86 engineering fee + $7.86 per hour of labor.

4- Power-on Testing

For standard SMT orders, we support partial power-on testing. If this service is needed, the customer must provide the specific testing method. If JLC evaluates and confirms the feasibility, an additional fee will be charged.

Fee standard: $15.7 engineering fee + $7.86 per hour of labor.

5- Additional Component Placement

To avoid mistakes and increase production efficiency, we usually do not support adding extra soldering components after the order is placed. If necessary, please contact support. If supported after evaluation, an additional fee will be charged. If not supported, production will proceed according to the original order information.

Fee standard:

1-) If adding soldered SMT components.

Labor cost: $47.14 for labor (including adding soldering for 2 positions), add $1.57 for each additional position.

Solder point fee: $0.0157 per solder point

Material cost: According to the actual material price

2-) Adding through-hole components

Labor cost: $7.88 labor fee

Solder point fee: $0.0157 per solder point

Material cost: According to the actual material price

6- Static Bag Packaging

For standard SMT orders, we support providing static bag packaging, primarily to protect items from electrostatic interference and damage.

Fee standard:

For sizes within 20*20CM, $0.16 per piece

If the size exceeds this, the price will slightly increase.

7- Clamping Board Soldering (Non-USB Devices)

For clamping board soldering devices, such as pin headers or RF coaxial connectors, manual soldering is required.

Fee: $0.05 per solder point.

8- Clamping Board Soldering (Fine Pitch Devices)

For soldering clamping board fine pitch devices, to ensure that the device can be horizontally clamped on the edge of the board, typically a jig is needed to assist in soldering.

Fee:

Jig cost: $47.14 per set; combined with the number of boards to verify whether multiple jigs are needed.

Labor cost: $0.791 per device

9- OLED Display Screen Soldering

When soldering OLED flex cables, manual soldering is required.

Fee: $0.05 per solder point

For such materials, to avoid damage, the corresponding area is not cleaned after soldering. To provide better packaging protection during transportation, it is recommended to add partition packaging.

10- Trimming Locating Posts

If the device has locating posts but the PCB does not have corresponding holes, to ensure good soldering, the device's locating posts need to be trimmed.

Fee standard:

Through-hole: $0.032 to trim one locating post

SMT: $0.032 to trim one locating post + manual placement fee ($0.016 per solder point)

If trimming is not needed, SMT materials are machine-picked and placed on the board; after trimming locating posts, manual picking and placing are required.

11- Pogo Pin Device Soldering

This type of material cannot be picked up by machines, thus requiring manual placement on the board.

Fee: $0.08 per device

For pogo pins, the device may touch the solder paste on the pad during placement, leading to solder contamination. Production defaults to customer acceptance of this risk.

Pogo pin device soldering offset error standard is plus or minus 0.15mm, production defaults to customer acceptance of this error.

12- Manual Insertion of Components

This type of component does not require solder paste soldering and needs to be manually completed for component assembly, such as plug-in terminals, jumper caps, etc.

Fee: $0.03 per device and above.

For time-consuming or difficult assemblies, pricing will be assessed afterwards.

13- Sinking USB Soldering

These devices typically require a jig to assist in soldering to ensure stability during the soldering process and prevent dropping or lifting, thereby avoiding poor soldering.

Fee standard: $7.86 per jig. The number of jigs is determined by the number of PCBA orders.

14- Flying Probe Testing

What files are needed for SMT flying probe testing?

If designed with EDA, a PCBDOC file is needed. Below are specific operation guides.

If designed with other software, an ODB++ file is needed. Usually, the method to export this file is available on the design software's official website.

For AD software, the related link is https://www.altium.com/documentation/altium-designer/workspacemanager-dlg-odbsetup-formodb-setup-ad?version=20.0

For Fusion 360, the related link is How to create an ODB++ files with Fusion 360 Electronics (https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-create-an-ODB-file-with-Fusion-360-Electronics.html)

For other software, please find the relevant guide documents on the respective official websites. If in doubt, consult JLCsupport.

15. Acting for Customer in Establishing Component Mail Packages

In production, some exceptional situations, such as those causing production to be canceled, may occur. To minimize customer losses and since components have not been used, customers can request to store the materials into their mailing inventory by establishing a mail package. Note that the mailing materials will not show the amount on subsequent SMT order invoices.

Fee: $8 service fee (material types not exceeding 20 types. Exceeding parts charged at $1 per material type)
