What is a chip resistor?

A chip resistor is a surface mount resistor (SMD) designed for automated PCB assembly. It is compact, reliable, and widely used in modern electronic circuits.

What are the common sizes of SMD chip resistors?

Common SMD resistor sizes include 0402, 0603, 0805, and 1206. These sizes represent the physical dimensions of the component and affect power rating and application.

How to choose the right SMD resistor?

To choose the right SMD resistor, consider resistance value, tolerance, power rating, package size, and application requirements such as signal accuracy or current handling.
